Rachel Green is a violinist currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the fall of 2026, she will pursue an Advanced Musical Studies Certificate in Orchestral Performance at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Music, studying with Christopher Wu of the Pittsburgh Symphony. A dedicated orchestral performer, she has studied orchestral excerpts extensively with members of the Cleveland Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony.

Rachel has enjoyed performing alongside the San Francisco Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, New Century Chamber Orchestra, and San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. She has also regularly performed with the Stockton and Canton Symphonies, as well as the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players.

Rachel has shared the stage with renowned artists including Gil Shaham, Augustin Hadelich, Daniil Trifonov, Simone Porter, Sasha Cooke, Regis Pasquier, and Tessa Lark. In 2022, she performed with members of the Oberlin Orchestra for the United Nations General Assembly at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

As a versatile performer, Rachel has appeared with Stewart Copeland of The Police and Kenny Barron at SFJAZZ, and performed at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in 2026.

Rachel was selected to participate in the Mendocino Music Festival’s Emerging Artists Program for the 2026 season. Additional festival appearances include Festival Napa Valley, Kent Blossom Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and Round Top Festival Institute.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Rachel studied in the Eastman School of Music’s pre-college program. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Francesca dePasquale and completed a concentration in Pedagogy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement. She later earned her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with Kay Stern, concertmaster of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.
